"Crazy Cat & Lady is an autobiographical love story. It is a light-hearted play on common tropes such as being a spinster cat lady, romance and fairy-tales. CC&L is a high-resolution scanned replication of the journal Cheeku (my cat) and I worked on over 10 days in June 2023. We went through a rollercoaster of emotions while working on it, from rage and frustration to joy and tenderness, and hope. The book is full of human error (the cat is perfect); in it you’ll find glue marks, scraggly edges, grammatical errors galore, scratched out words, etc. It has been narrated through photographs, collages, hand-written text and doodles - the photographs used were taken through 2020-2022. This body of work is an intersectional exploration of love & companionship, personal politics, mental health, emotional behaviour, spirituality… and the magic of cats, of course. It has been an exercise in practising self-acceptance and it would be erroneous not to present it in its truest form - perfectly imperfect." _ Nidhi Jacob
