Indu Antony’s Orma Petti (memory box) offers a tiny window into who she is. The pandemic of 2020 and the lockdown that ensued placed the world into uncharted territories. However the feeling of isolation was particularly heightened for Antony who lives alone. The absence of touch was striking. It was then that she discovered her old box and started rummaging through its contents. They contained multiple objects collected from a young age. The tactility of the objects resurrected many fond, and not-so-fond memories. For Why Can't Bra’s Have Buttons, the artist began stitching each of these objects with a single strand of her hair using it and the act of sewing as a metaphor for memory.
